About Skew The Script:
Skew The Script supports instruction and creates high school lesson materials that make math what it already is: relevant. Why? Because relevant math classrooms:
  • Empower marginalized students by boosting math engagement and achievement
  • Strengthen civil discourse by deepening all students’ math reasoning on civic topics
Lessons address compelling, real-world problems to engage students in meaningful and rigorous math instruction.

About the SkewU PLC:
Statistics teachers (AP, Honors, and College Prep) from Massachusetts public schools are eligible to participate in the 2027-28 SkewU PLC. Teachers will receive professional learning with their PLC, a classroom observation, and 1:1 coaching to support implementation of Skew The Script curricular materials.

SkewU PLC Commitments:
  • Attend all PLC programming, including in-person and virtual professional learning*
  • Implement at least one Skew The Script lesson per week (or 2 to 3 per unit)
  • Submit all teacher and student surveys
  • A subset of participating teachers may be asked to give the CAT assessment to their students. Teachers will receive details and support in advance and may opt out.
  • AP teachers only: All students enrolled in AP Statistics are expected to take the AP Statistics exam. While we recognize that full participation may not always be possible due to circumstances outside a teacher's control, we ask that teachers encourage and support all students in sitting for the exam.
*PLC Programming includes: 
  • Spring 2027 PLC kickoff event
  • 2-day summer launch in Worcester, MA (August and September options)
  • One-day workshop in October
  • 90-minute virtual workshop in December 
  • One-day workshop in January 
  • 90-minute virtual workshop in March
About This Application Form:
  • Forms must be submitted by February 24, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
  • Please submit one form per teacher. If multiple teachers from one school are interested in participating, please fill out one form for each of those teachers.
  • Learn more before applying! Attend an informational event to hear directly from the Skew The Script team and teachers who have participated in the PLC. These events are optional but encouraged. See here for more.
